Ganjia Rice (Lal Chal)

Red Ganjia Rice, commonly known as Lal Chal, is a traditional Bangladeshi rice made from the Aman variety of Ganjia paddy. It is prepared through the traditional Chatal process and remains semi-polished, allowing more of the grain’s natural fiber to stay intact.

With its distinct red colour and traditional character, Lal Chal is a good option for those who prefer less-refined rice in their regular meals. It can be served with bhorta, vegetables, fish, meat or other familiar Bangladeshi dishes.
